| BEST WAY DOWNTOWN:
Dorval is located 12 miles (20 km) west of the center of Montreal. There is a ground transportation services desk on the departure level of the terminal, up the stairs from the customs area exit. Dorval handles domestic and North American flights. Mirabel International in Montreal is used for all other international flights. You can find the following on Dorval's Web site:
Just outside the arrivals terminal there is a taxi dispatcher. Give him (or her or them or it) your destination and number of people in your party, and he (or whatever) will summon a taxi for you (regardless of your standing in the animal kingdom). The meter is not used. The fare is fixed, and is currently about $25 Canadian ($16). Travel time to downtown is 20 to 30 minutes. Taxi fare to Mirabel Airport is $59 Canadian ($38).
Grayline Connaisseur runs a service from Dorval to downtown. It leaves every 20 to 30 minutes daily from 7 A.M. until 1 A.M. The fare will be about $9 Canadian ($6) for one-way and $17 Canadian ($11) for a round-trip, with a travel time of 20 - 30 minutes.
Buy a ticket from the dispatcher outside the arrivals terminal. The bus stops at the City Centre Air Terminal Station (corner of La Gauchetiere West and University), which is near the central rail station. A shuttle service to all the major downtown hotels is included in the fare from where the bus drops you off. Taxis and the Metro Subway are also available.
Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz, Tilden, and Thrifty are represented at Dorval.
